All new students to Oxford, regardless of what year they are, are called Fresher’s. Today was the university-wide Freshers' Fair for clubs/organizations that are open to all Oxford students, no matter which college they are with. There are only 300 clubs to choose from. There is another Fresher’s Fair at the end of the week for just those who go to New College. I signed up for three clubs today – we’ll see which ones stick. They had clubs for EVERYTHING! I signed up for a self-defense class, archery, and the psychology society. There are all kinds of free events going on around town for Fresher’s this week and next week – too bad after that we have to start paying!
